The Pink Power Project ultimately donates period products to women in need.
The three stages to the project are detailed below.
This project begins with something near and dear to my heart - CLOTHES! Most girls have spare clothes that are ill-fitting, boring, or just not their style. We collect clothes in good condition from Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough county residents. Due to social distancing restrictions, we arrange for clothing donations through social media or our email and collect them right from your doorstep!
Once enough clothes are obtained, Pink Power volunteers will wash them and sell them to consignment stores or second-hand shops for cash. Donated items are routinely exchanged for funds in order to keep the project moving forward.
Finally, the money generated from the unwanted clothing is used to purchase pads, tampons, toilet paper, etc.. The hygiene products are then delivered to local homeless shelters and food pantries in Pinellas & Pasco County.
